Course Description: In this course, we will study the basics of plane and solid geometry, including points, lines, angles, triangles, polygons, circles, and three-dimensional figures. Emphasis will be placed on deductive reasoning, proofs, and the application of geometric principles in real-world contexts.
Course Objectives: In this course, we will cover:
- Foundations of Geometry: Points, lines, planes, and angles.
- Reasoning and Proofs: Logic, postulates, theorems, and formal proofs
- Triangles: Congruence, similarity, and Pythagorean theorem.
- Polygons and Quadrilaterals: Properties, classification, and area.
- Circles: Arcs, chords, tangents, and sector area.
- Coordinate Geometry: Equations of lines, slopes, and distance.
- Solid Geometry: Surface area, volume, and nets of three-dimensional figures.
- Trigonometry Basics: Sine, cosine, tangent, and applications in right triangles.
