Course Description: In this course, students will explore careers in healthcare that include the fields of medical assisting, medical technology, nursing, dental, laboratory, pharmacy, diagnostics and imaging, therapy and rehabilitation, and more. In addition to exploring these fields, students will learn skills that are necessary in the healthcare field including professionalism, communication skills, basic medical terminology, critical thinking and problem solving, how to obtain and interpret vital signs, and safety and infection control practices.
Course Objectives: By the end of the course, students will understand the different careers in the medical field and the requirements needed to pursue further education. Students will be able to demonstrate professional skills that are required for a career in the healthcare field.

Grading Policies: 25% Attendance and classroom participation, 50% homework assignments, 25% tests and quizzes.
