Course Description: This course will introduce students to several topics that are included in a set of life skills needed for career readiness. These topics include but are not limited to problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, decision making, and interpersonal relationship skills, This course will also cover specifics on career choices, interviewing skills, educational paths for their chosen career, and business etiquette skills. The course will be taught using lecture, class discussion, videos, video interviews with people in various career fields, team activities, and practice interviews.
Course Objectives: At the end of class, students will be able to identify and understand the importance of each of these life skills and will be able to use these life skills as they plan for future careers.

Class Time: Tuesday 10:00AM-10:55AM

Required Book(s): Life Skills 101: A Fun and Practical Handbook for Growing Up Strong and Independent. Ryan Sapienti. Independently published (November 27, 2023).
Required Materials(s): A notebook with folder to take notes and keep handouts. There will be several handouts and articles on the topics that we cover.
Classroom Expectations:
Students are expected to arrive to class on time.
Students are expected to participate in class discussions and activities.
Students are expected to complete all assigned homework
Students are expected to display Christian character in class. Disrespectful behavior towards teacher or classmates will not be tolerated.
Grading Policies: 50% Class Participation; 50% Homework and Projects.
Grading Scale: 90-100 =A, 80-89=B, 70-79=C, 60-69=D, 50-59=F
